........or know someone who has, a Leven Hood Cover for a Wedge they don't use/require anymore and would like to exchange for some of my hard-earned......

If not, it seems that even though Leven haven't made one for years they said that they would, but have to make five at a time. They can get them ready in about three weeks. Payment would have to be up-front. So if another four Wedgers are interested they will do a run. I'm awaiting confirmation of price but it should be 10% off because of the quantity. So I'm guessing £135 ish plus delivery. Will confrim when I get more info. Let me know if anyone is tempted and we'll start a list?

Being a tad new to wedge-dom, I've never heard of a Leven Hood Cover... If someone could explain to me what it is and why I need one then I may very well be interested in being on the list... smile

I do currently have a big black thing that feels like faux leather, in it's own black faux leather bag/pouch/case affair, but I've not got a clue what it is as I've not opened it out yet, it could be a swimming pool cover or a body bag for all I know!!! (one of several things I inherited from my uncles house that I haven't yet figured out the purpose of, the most mysterious of which is yellow, with several lights and makes a whirring sound when the middle switch is flicked!! wobble )

It's a tailored cover which fits the shape of the hood, roof and windscreen. There are straps which fit to the boot hinges and bonnet opening. Has opening sides to allow access to the car without fully removing it and is good quality. A must for any Wedge parked outside to keep interior completely dry. The other item you have may be a cover for the roof centre section

Thanks Mike smile After having read the review, I think the black leather-effect item I mentioned is actually a Leven Hood Cover!!! biggrin I'll open it out and take a look later but if so then I obviously won't be needing to go on the list... Thanks SO much for the info, but sorry I probably won't be helping others get one made frown

Price is confirmed at £135 inc VAT plus postage. As it seems a popular order, if it's ok with everyone already on the list, we'll hang on for a few days more to see if anyone else is interested, then I'll contact Leven, tell them it's a goer, pm you all and you can make your payments direct to them and he'll plan the production run.

Any questions let me know asap please

Mike

I bought a Leven cover but had to return it as the cut-out for my bonnet catch was in a different place so wouldn't fit properly. Do Leven do a choice of cover type depending on year of car? I have a 1985 350i with the bonnet catch on the passenger side above the washer bottle.
I'd have one that fitted correctly and would need to arrange overseas shipping.

I contacted Leven. They said they weren't aware of any differences in the position of the bonnet catch. Mine is about one third of the way along from the nearside between the inner wings. Anyone else's any different?

For an extra charge they will ship abroad, no problem

Hi
Re the bonnet catch, early cars (including 350i's) have the catch in the middle! It's no problem just cut a hole to match were your catch is, as it's under the bonnet you don't see it so if its not 100% who knows!
