Right, have about 6 yrs experience in Linux server admin, networking, datacentres, bit of Cisco etc.
I've seen quite a few interesting IT Security based roles but it seems to be all high level / contract based stuff, which I don't have the necessary experience for.
Has anyone gone into that industry from a non-sales side - what route did you follow ?

with your 6 years experience, you should be able to get your head around apps like nessus, the reasoning and theory behind different attacks etc then go for any / all the hits from somewhere like jobserve?
like many things, it's a numbers game where the numbers sway in your direction once you have a foot in the door
