Unless you have enough snow to affect ground clearance, wouldnt you be better off looking at steel rims and winter tyres? Much less outlay biggrin

You're going to buy a 4x4 just because we have some snow that will last no more than a few days, and your work expects you to do this :s?driving

Not necessarily.

Decent winter tyres are, what, £120 a corner or so? Steel rims another £40 or so each?

You can get a pretty good 4x4 for not much more than £640, and then enjoy playing in mud with it for the rest of the year. smile

personaly i would go with something landrover, not that im bias at all. having a 90 defender!!!

i would look at a disco they are dirt cheap, with a disco look out for rear x-member rot, and all over general rot, and rust but if you any good with a welder you will be fine, try and get a 200tdi engine as they will go on forever but are quite rare these days as most have been borken for parts, as people just wnated the engine for off roading (like i did) if you cant find a 200tdi go for a 300tdi.

Hope this helps??

Thanks for suggestions chaps/esses and Spoonies go forth and suduce something contagious hehe

I had forgotten about our mothballed Navara D22 king cab on a 53 reg it has just passed mot for a lot less than we thought it would.

It already has 3" L A lift kit on, but need/want some other goodies now! Any suggestions on how to beef up suspension currently emu rear leafs and coils on front, and wheel combination not too outrageous as will be dual purpose for work and some weekend childish play in the mud.
