Has anyone bought a Laura Ashley Sofa. What's the general consensus. There is curently an end of season sale with up to 50% off. Some of the designs seem quite good but wanted to know what the build quality and longevity was like.

Any thoughts?

I bought my Laura Ashley sofa from them this time last year, and I've also made use of their sale and ordered an arm chair at the weekend, which should be delivered in March.

It's well made, comfy and were no issues with delivery etc.

As per the previous poster. No issues at all and we got ours in a similar sale. It was delivered a week early too, bless 'em.

IIRC PH'er Tampon makes/repairs sofas, he's the man to ask IMO.

ok, thanks for the feedback. I was looking at ordering this week given the 40% discount. Did anyone take out their stain warranty?

I didn't, but then I just live on my own and don't have kids, it might be a different matter if I did.

I don't know where you are located - but there is a LA outlet shop in Taplow (near Maidenhead/Slough).

I don't know if they have a sale - but it would be worth checking smile

There sofas are from the same suppliers as DFS so there will be no issues at all.

What is the longevity like on these sofas, I have heard that the cushions usually need replacing within a year..

I would strongly advise you to ask Tampon in that case...

We have had laods of LA furniture but not sofas (but have 2 of their leather wing chairs: excellent). Bought the other furuniture( 4 sets of drawers) from a woman on Ebay who found the importer, kept it 5 years and sold it back through Ebay for more than LA were selling the new stuff in the sale. Madness.

A mate recently cleared a couple of DFS leather sofas from a house as the guy couldn't sell them. Nobody wanted them so he broke them up and burnt them. They appeared to be made from cheap pine and chipboard stapled together then swathed in cheap foam and fibre.
I'd save up for something from Mulityork or Wesley-Barrell.

I've had my sofa for just about a year and the cushions are fine, but then I'm fastidious about plumping them up and turning them round so that they get equal wear.
