Fire extinguisher location?

Has anybody tried to mount a remote actuated fire extinguisher in front of the luggage container on a GTR, using the power brake booster mounts as support? Seems like a good spot to me - any thoughts on this?

There was not sufficent room for the one I have so have fitted it under the dash. It's a tight squeeze. Think the pictures are on my web site but not sure. will check later as i'm at work just now.

I mounted mine behind the passenger side footrest.

A lot depends on the shape and size of the extinguisher. There are loads of potential places, it's just a case of seeing which one your extinguisher fits best in.

I fitted mine low down on the rear bulkhead between the seats so that it sits just above the handbrake cables. It's out of the way here and a simple matter to take the decabon tubing through the bulkhead panel and into the engine bay.

Mine is in the passenger sidepod and still leaves room for a load of stella and a sleeping bag!

I'm trying to maximize the usable storage space, so looking to hide the FireBottle system in front of the luggage bin. Mounting low between the seats is an option.

you can make more room in there if you cut the servo mount brackets off.
You also need to consider how you will get the cylinder back out as it will need to be seviced.
My site has photos of where mine is mounted but also has pics of access holes to that front sidepod area.
These consist of watertight bulkhead 'Portholes' (as used in sailing dinghys) fitted in the front face of the wheel arch. These may be just big enough to get the cylinder in an out.
