king timeGlad my complaint (rant) has done something.
Should we read anything into the inclusion of other topics into the investigation.
What I mean is, if it were just the MMGW b
ks they can't have any other finding than BBC has broken it's charter and has been hugely and wantonly biased. With the others included may it be a bit of a smoke screen?

The outcome is a foregone conclusion, there is no way in hell that the Trust will find the BBC in breach of its charter, the implications would be enormous and would even involve the government. All that we can hope to gain from this is to make public the fact that the BBCs supposed impartiality is no longer guarranteed.

That's not very carbon neutral! Should we read anything into the inclusion of other topics into the investigation.

@ Ap... oops YAD061
Yes I agree it's a foregone conclusion whitewash, I was just trying to say they've structured it this way so that they can reach that conclusion even though in one instance it's clear what has been going on.
Yes well done - what a shame that the BBC is biased in favour of people who actually know what they are talking about rather than some people on a car forum
From the link:
'"'Impartial' is a word you use to describe political disputes," he said. "We don't want media coverage of science to be obsessed with representing all political constituencies and extreme interest groups, confusing 'balance' with 'accuracy'.
"We want it to be evidence-based, to come down and say 'that's nonsense' when something plainly is nonsense."
He added that he'd like to see technical details reported so that people can make their own minds up – rather than assuming everyone is "stupid and uninterested".'

The BBC's science coverage is neither impartial (fair enough) nor evidence based (not good), so I'm not quite sure what your point is.From the link:

How strange, when even their flagship current affairs programse talk to the viewers as if they're 'stupid and uninterested'. The same station who filled an evening last night with a special about a small amount of snow falling on the UK.I think the review will cover a lot more than just the Climate Change debate. Over the past 10 years, the BBC has slowly abandoned its once proud (and indeed noble) advocacy of science and engineering. Even its flagship science series such as Horizon have sunk to totally dumbed down CGI fests covering "end of the world" scenarios ad nauseum.
The fact that the BBC dropped the Royal Institute Christmas Lectures years ago (once compulsive viewing over the Cristmas Break) showed that they were no longer interested in the subject.
Proper science has been missing from the Beeb for far too long.

Interesting 1st post on a car forum.....but hey ho....From the link:

....somewhat condescending attitude to those people on this forum, considering as you only joined today you have no knowledge about their experience, background or knowledge.
There is inbalance in much of what the BBC churns outs.

Yes, Radio 4.
Radio 4 stands out as the EXCEPTION that proves the rule. I too am a great fan of Radio 4 but it's the TV output that attracts the bigger audiences - and postulates the greatest amount of "non-science".Yes, Radio 4.
