Just heard theres a good chance that Nigel Mansell will be in this years Le Mans (thanks Rob) driving a Beechdean Mansell Motorsport factory supported Ginetta-Zytek Z09R in LMP1. All we need now is Brundle and Herbert to make up the threesome instead of his mini-niges........ clap

Has anything been confirmed for GT1 yet? The works team Corvettes some sort of challenge.

The works Corvettes are in GT2 now. It's not yet clear who'll be running in GT1 as the rules have changed and it will depend on who runs in the LMS. The hope is for Nissan GTR, Maserati MC12, Lambo Murcialago (not the crap JLOC one) and Ford GT40. Old style GT1s will still be allowed to enter but with an oxymoronic 'performance kit' to slow them down.

JLOC have an automatic entry though...
Maybe targeting 2 laps this year?

I really hope you're joking. They are making a mockery of the whole thing.

Great news about my hero racing, though. Cant wait. Points will be awarded for anyone seen wearing an old Mansell T-shirt from 92, 91 or even from the Ferari years...!

Tried finding a picture to post up of the car from my Le Mans images. I've been for 4 years and don't have one. They're on track that much.

JLOC were actually very good in the Asian series. One would hope that they will carry their new found competitiveness onto Le Mans, but we shall see.

Perhaps JLOC should borrow one of the Safety Cars and a team of their drivers as they seem to complete more laps

i've got lots of pitlane shots wink

One year they wrote the car off in practice, got special dispensation and had a new tub flown in, rebuilt it and managed 45(?) minutes. The pitcrew were certainly having an endurance event.

they are a good bet for 1st retirement.

With the announcement that Nige is going to race this year, should we perhaps be thinking about sporting some kind of facial hair (other than the usual five day shadow) as a form of encouragement, perhaps Hollographics could knock up some kind of car-tache sticker? It's a shame Movember isn't in June.

I have two pet slugs, one called Nigel by coincidence, who I could place over my eye-lids to replicate the famous Mansell brows.....
