Hi all,

been at home yesterday and today but considering risking the drive from Weston to TVP tomorrow

Whats the score -

Is TVP clear now or is it a wasteland of dumped cars and ice?

It's pretty bad, but there is a limited bus service to Computacentre building - no further so MSFT shut the offices today and tomorrow.

edit: Also heard the A329M was closed earlier today - not sure how long for.

Thanks for the reply

This is what I was afraid of - just before xmas it took me an hour just to dig myself out the work car park (next to MS) and there is no way I'm going through that again

Given that its likely to be -10'ish tonight I dont suppose things have a hope of improving

The David Lloyd car park was clear last week and looked fairly OK today - park there maybe? I used it last week when I knew my usual car park would be an ice rink - I had to use my 911 so didn't want to risk it!

The clearway in to TVP wasn't too bad for the 2WD cars I saw attempting it today. I didn't touch the A329M but heard it was pretty bad - down to one lane, not much grit. A disgrace really since it's practically a motorway.

Well,

made it in

Almost got stuck at Membury when washing the screen (washer fluid frozen), A329M as rightly said above was a total disgrace

My car park wasn't too bad, but a little worried when it came to going home as TVP drive seemed worse on the way out than in

More snow/ice/frost from tmw then.........

Joy!

The A329(M) is owned by the local council and they are responsible for gritting both the M section and the A sections of road. Unfortunately the local council is rapidly running out of salt...as is everyone else.

TV Park and the Park and Ride are seriously slippery at the moment after the sun sets and the section from Copid Beach RA is always slippery.

I travel this section numerous times a day and notify the council of the slippery bits and ask them to send a gritter...get the same old reply time and again, they're over stretched and have run out of salt. Just be careful and stay safe out there.

So apparently snow all the way from tonight until Tuesday afternoon in the Reading area (Met Office) so that should add to the fun!

Didnt realise until Friday that all the office car parks in TVP are the responsibility of the management company (apparently there tractor broke down prior to xmas and has only recently been sorted, so they are now on the case?)

Saw them in MS car park Friday trying to clear that, but there were sveral abandoned cars in the way

Just to clarify the A329(M) was closed because a lorry was in a ditch. It's my daily commute, but I haven't bothered as it's such a bad road when things go wrong.

The bridges over Winnersh Triangle and the M4 are both to blame for multiple accidents caused by ice forming on the colder bridge sections, so should always be treated with extra care.

I'm not there today, but if someone else is, can you let us know how it's looking today?

There was a big queue to get into TVP on the traffic cameras this morning, and when I came past there were a load of cars parked under the 329M flyover. I guess the office carparks are still uncleared so people were having trouble parking in TVP itself.

That was the story apparently. Lots cleared yesterday though, with more to follow today by all accounts. BG still showing with 2 car parks closed this morning, and MSFT are >50% clear around the rear car parks. Otherwise, roads are fine, if a little narrow
