Facebook is for attention whoring, narcissists, insecure people and stalkers!
Or alternatively it's currently one of the best ways of keeping in touch with your friends when they're spread around the globe!
Admittedly, if you or your friends have never lived anywhere other than Rotherham then yes, it's a bit of an attention seekers thing and thoroughly pointless.

When you actually have friends, Facebook is a fantastic tool for keeping in touch with a lot of people through one single medium/utility. However, if you have two mates, both of whom you work with and see down the pub in the evenings, then I would suggest that joining Facebook just to get added by old schoolfriends is probably a waste of your time...
I've only got 200 "friends" on there. I have a policy of only adding people who I genuinely want to keep in touch with, such as real University friends and ex-colleagues.
Fantastic tool, as long as you actually have a reason for using it.

I agree with alot of what has been said, however it was instrumental in myself getting in touch with old Navy mates, who I would otherwise have never seen again. What I cant stand is the way some people use it to b
h about people, jobs etc. I know several people who have fallen out because of this. Good for pictures and keeping in touch, and thats it!

The people who I want to keep in touch with I do so via email.
To me Facebook is like those Christmas letters people write, photocopy and shove in all their Christmas cards. It's effective - but highly impersonal.
If people want me to see a picture they can email me with it. If they don't want to do that badly enough to be bothered with doing that? I probably don't care about them, either.

Where do you keep the rest of your mates then. A night out with you and few pals must involve nightclub and bus hire. Seriously, no one has 200 friends. You may have came into contact with, worked with and passed the time of day with 200 people but I find it hard to believe you have 200 "friends".
If you do you must need to remortgage the house at Christmas to buy all the s
t gifts.Edited by chimera40 on Thursday 7th January 18:40
