I can see by the mature response, that it is was necessary to remove this post!
Well, If you ask a stupid question...Seriously: If you expect a meaningful answer to what is potentially a highly technical question, then you need to give us sufficient information to determine a response.
Expecting us to advise on how to recalibrate a damper, when we know neither the damper manufacturer, nor the car it is fitted to, nor the problems you are experiencing that make you think you need to recalibrate it is akin to asking:
'My engine isn't producing enough power. I'm not going to tell you what sort of engine it is, how much power it's producing, or why I think it's not enough, but could you tell me what's wrong with it?'.

I supect that any one who doesnt understand has not been involved in a heavily regulated/controled championship.
So what you're telling us is that you want us to help you cheat, and don;t want to be found out?Edited by Sam_68 on Friday 8th January 08:19
Sam I guess by the fact you live in the Cotswolds means your not a stupid guy -
Give some people some credit! ( I am an engineer) Not a boy racer
I totally appreciate it was stupid to ask for advice with out giving enough detail the viariables are to vast - I do not need a lesson in set up, We change spring rates all the time, I have a box full of them - but we do back off the damper in the wet!
I have rebuilt race bike folks etc.. changed oil vicosity and volume to suit spring rates - not gas (so I was curious having not stripped a shock)
It's also silly to presume the person posting is an idiot,( I only try to reply posative to people not with critasim - If some says something silly I dont post, for all I know I could have the wrong end of the stick.
I know it is comp and rebound issue- the people who designed the car, have all the brand new standard shocks stripped and revalved? I guess, (it's not cheating) I want to do it /or get it done my self.
This More of a cost stubborn thing-
I believe some call it monopoly motorsport, the ones making the rules, makes the rules to benefit financially. Which is Why I'm maybe looking at getting a different car for a different championship in the future.
- SEE SAM I've already said to much (I shouldnt have made the post it's a waste of time when you can not say what you need to)
The shocks are the same type fitted to a westfield etc.. coil over with only single adjustment to keep it affordable racing (LOL). My car is much lighter - I do not need a diagnosis - I can drive and do set up, I know what the problem is - I just do not know if it is an easy job, i.e if I can get the compnents and change them my self, I appreciate all a bit daft as I can not state the make!
Sorry

You've not met the locals, then? Most of the really clever genes come from the sheep. Still, as a general rule they've only got the normal complement of fingers, which is more than can be said for the Foresters on the other side of the Severn. The Real Stig said:

Then it should be quite within your capabilities to figure out how a single-adjistable race car damper works. I gave you a link to the Penske technical manual, but I suggest you get hold of the tech manual or parts list for whichever manufacturer's damper is fitted to your car (Nitron?).The Real Stig said:

Sorry, but that's the impression your deleted post gave, hence the fact you didn't get a serious response from any of us.
I shouldnt have posted the original post , I have a guy who knows a guy that can do it for me (I dont know what I was thinking) - it must be all this snow making my brain go funny (some how I expected people to know what I was talking about, but couldnt tell them to much detail! Stupid, I wouldnt know either!) I just need to get out and about and speak to the right people within the same environment, I have a lsit of capable but busy contacts.
Any way they can not be that sheepish in the Cotswolds
I couldnt drive most of last season (so did some work for the factory, testing days etc..) - I was Spannering a Factory car for some chap from the Cotswolds - He didnt get his hands dirty and jumped into his Aston Martin and went home after each day, that's the way to do it! Young guy too! (must have far too much money) I think he got a win too in one of the last races, but he will not do a full season or buy a race car, does not sound like his genetics are to mixed up! barrr!
