Is it possible to pick up a half decent 90/defender for £2000? Im looking for a new daily driver and i quite fancy one. It will never be used on the motorway just small country roads and maybe a bit of offroading from time to time. It will be used for upto 50miles per day so would it be better to go for the diesel?

You're unlikely to get a decent one for £2k unless you happen to know someone who's selling one cheap, or unless you go for an earlier non-Defender 90 - but that would probably be a petrol or n/a diesel. With your daily mileage versus the MPG of a petrol, you'd be better off paying a bit more up front and getting a 200 Tdi Defender (around 1991 model year onwards) as this will be better specced and have power steering. You might find an earlier model with a 200Tdi engine swap and PAS etc but it's just a case of looking round. Any £2k Landy will need occasional TLC and possibly some minor jobs doing.
Happy looking and you will love driving a 90!!
