My mate pulled away from a junction in South Sheilds, over a hump bridge and there it was - white van, blacked out back windows, looking straight at him.

He nstantly backed off the throttle and glanced at the speedo - 30mph dead.

If he has the camera focused on the bridge, he might have been doing 33ish, but if he's left a reaction time he should be ok.

Just have to wait and see. Hope his trigger value is set high, for the benefit of my American Friend.

you get some margin of error for speedo inaccuracies so you should be ok. I think its 10% + 2mph so you should be ok until 35. Best of luck

for the future, you can always turn around, wander up to the guy in the van and ask him if you've been done.

I know this ... as I was in a similar situation to you yesterday, I wasn't sure if I'd been nabbed so once I had calmed down, 360'd and spoke to the (admittedly very polite and helpful) chap with the laser.
Yes he'd seen me (and the 7 I was with), he'd also seen me back off and no, I had't got a ticket.
