Being as the threads which seem the most fun and most popular seem to get closed or deleted Like,sorry your FAT and the sexiest outfit thread by the mods for some reason,

NOTE TO MODS; i think a little more explanation of reasons for locking would be in order.

should we not have a NSFW grown ups area so people who go in there know what they are letting themselves in for?

The problem isn't the Mods, it is the silly people from here that post unsuitable pictures.

The sooner they realise that there are other websites especially for that where they can look and post to their hearts content the better.

PH rarely allows 'girly' threads.

When we close or remove a topic/ thread the OP receives a message from us, but you are correct, we don't always post in the forums afterwards.

The reasons why we get rid of NSFW threads is we are primarily a car site that allows off topic content too. However, there are plenty of other sites to get NSFW content from and we don't want PH to become one of those if we are honest.

Not only does it affect our ability to be viewed from the workplace, it also attracts a 'Zoo and Nuts' crowd and we don't particularly want to do that.

While it may annoy some that these topics are removed, you have to admit that the internet isn't exactly short of sites that offer this content if you want it.

Ali makes a good point, and it's one we agree with. She has been here long enough to know how we work and respects that. I think that is her point. If you really must look at pics of girls on the net, then a car site isn't really the place to do it and we enforce the rules as such.

Still not speaking to you lot ever ever again. I love PH, it keeps me amused for hours on a wide range of things. But having one thread among the many thousands that are on-going in this male dominated forum showing some Women in silly/sexy outfits is hardly bringing the tone down and changing the shape/purpose of the forum.

I fully agree with not allowing x-rated content and closing threads when they become abusive or go to far. This is good moderation in action, closing a thread such as the one I posted seems a bit to much IMHO. The again, its your site, so ultimately you choose.

Chimaera40, well firstly we share great taste in cars so

All we want to do is keep this site a place for proper people with proper cars and as we rank so highly on Google we don't want some 'yoof' types searching for the latest 'babe' and finding their way to PH as a result. It also affects how many large corporations allow PH to be viewed from work, and as we are so busy from 09.00- 17.00 we want to avoid being blocked at all costs.

Nothing personal, and not being prudish. We all like looking at 'nice' pics too but we just don't use PH for it

So do I, and many others. It whiles away MANY happy hours at work

Which is why threads tend to be removed very quickly I think; because anyone could be viewing that thread (which started out innocently enough) in the workplace, then having a picture of an almost nekkid girly (even one as 'innocent' as above) appear could get them into severe trouble. Too many pictures and PH suddenly starts setting off warnings in the IT room and PH gets banned - which means no car shopping at work either

I thought both threads were great, right up until people spoiled them

whilst i do agree with the points above the question was should there be a forum that is NSFW , which does negate the points about people being shocked at work, or are we saying that to protect people with no self control at work we can't have one.

surely if it is called NSFW and you still look at it while your at work and get caught looking at some boobs by your boss then thats natural selection.

I'd quite happily get rid of The Lounge altogether. As far as I can see it's just for the regulars to cock about anyway. The most prolific posters on this forum practically never post about cars and are more into the forum than cars. Maybe The Lounge should be spun off into a new website with a different URL?

Yes, that's true, but what's the point of devoting such a large time policing a part of the site and trying to please people who are not the direction the site wants to go in? Strikes me that people who participate in The Lounge ought to consider themselves lucky that it's even there. Some of the more prolific posters are incredibly rude to people and they get away with it. These are the same people who rarely make a post about cars (have a look at a few of them if you disbelieve me, including the people who have posted in this thread). They are also, it must be observed, the people that keep the post count high and therefore the Google results where they need to be I guess so it's a bit of a dilemma I suppose.
