So, before I have had chance to sort out the DSC ABS problem (see my other thread for which I thank all contributors)- Last night the damn thing wouldnt start!

RAC came out and after checking glow plugs etc diagnosed poor rate/pressure of fuel delivery from pre-pump (by the not very technical method of taking the pipe off and watching how much it spurted out!)

Now if it wasnt delivering at all I could see it being relay or the pump itself but 'weak delivery'? - could it be ice formed somewhere? - as I understand it the pre-pump is under the N/S footwell I'm wondering if we might have a bit of blockage through any moisture content in the fuel freezing at these low temps. Either way it is now sitting outside the local indy awaiting Monday! I did ask them if they could put it inside this morning and see if warming it up did anything but they said it was too dangerous to push it because of the snow & ice!

Getting a bit fed up with this car now! GRRR

Had a similar problem last year, the AA man diagnosed poor fuel delivery pressure and stated that if the pressure isn't up to scratch then the ECU cuts off the fuel pump. So had the car put on the diagnostic at there it was "Pre supply pressure below min value for engine start" I recall the replacement fuel pump and relay cost around £170

However my problem was the camshaft sensor, this took a long time to diagnose (months) as it clears from the diagnostic after a set number of successful starts. The camshaft sensor is easy to fit and costs around £70. If your problem persists after a new fuel pump I'd recommend changing the sensor on spec.
