Last year we were planning on heading further down south to Bordeaux to find a vinyard to stay in for a couple of days but unfortunately the weather worked against us and it didn't look to appealing.

We ended up heading to Paris which was great... Slightly anxious though on Paris roads in an English car, covered in stickers, which was rented and had a 700 quid excess!

Hoping to get the vinyards in this year...

And if its in the thread, the fabulous restaurant in Chinon - Au plaisir gourmand - has closed with the retirement of the chef and his wife who did front of house. I can honestly say that the experience of eating there was something else and the wine list was unbelievable - all Loire wines and about 200 of them I'd never heard of.

We found this place by accident a few LM's ago and was a nice place to chill-out and relax. Couldn't remmember the name for a revisit attempt last time, but got the Sarthe tourist office to find out from a picture I had!

>>>It is definitely a village in the North of La Sarthe and Le Mans called FRESNAY-SUR-SARTHE. It is not far from the Alpes Mancelles located close to Saint Leonards des Bois .

This a lovely part of our department, I hope it will help and do contact us for further information if required.<<<

A mate of mine and myself are planning a road trip around europe after LeMans, planning on going to Paris, then over to Munich to the bmw museum, stop off at the 'Ring on the way up and then have a long weekend in Amsterdam for our 21st birthdays, as we could'nt go away earlier in the year.

Should be a good end to uni for me, can't wait! its about 2500 miles in all...

hmm seems a few of us are off the Ring after Le Mans :-)

We are legging it on Friday morning to Chamonix (missing the race in order to get to Switzerland for a huge Audi Meet) then to Grusch, then home via 2 days at the Ring.

Cant wait!

Me and my mate are heading to the 'Ring' on Monday after the race. We'll be in a red C5 Corvette (now with uprated suspension and brakes) and hoping to see 180MPH this time at some point in the trip. Can't wait now, just hope the weather is good. See you all there!

Just head south for a couple of hours in to the Loire, well worth a visit.
