Talisker Single Malt

One of my friends has bought me a bottle of Talisker Whisky and not being a whisky (or whiskey) expert, do any of you know what its like? Is it a decent tipple or should I keep it for a birthday present for someone that I do not like

Which version of Talisker is it? It's highly unlikely to be bad, whichever it is though

Don't read it too much, you'll end up with 6 different single malts on the go at the same time and a very angry girlfriend....

I was at a court case many years ago , the barristers sitting in front of me talked about talisker all through the case.very peaty apparently. Lager lout myself so would not know

10yo Talisker is lovely, I bought a bottle just after Xmas for a bargain price and have gone through a good bit already.

I find it smokey and a bit peaty with a nice after kick and somehow a very distinctive taste all round.
