Today I parked on a road where the spaces are at 90degrees to the pavement, sort of like carpark style. I then realised I couldn't reverse because the road was too icy. A random middle aged couple both helped my gf push the car back even though the car is clearly filthy.

Then tonight, after my mate had bought some food, we saw a scrote by the bus stop push and shove his girlfriend to the ground and her screaming. We rushed over and the scrote got off her but then proceeded to shout at us 'touch me and see what I do'. As much as I wanted to call him out, the chances of him having a knife was quite high so we remained calm and asked the girl if she was ok.

She kept saying it was ok, though it obviously wasn't and somebody else had come over, so me and my mate rushed to the car and grabbed a wheel wrench incase things kicked off. In the end 2 others got involved in calming the scrote down, whilst my mate and I, along with a chap who worked for the bus company spoke to her. I offered her a lift home but she refused to leave the scrote by himself. Eventually the bus guy said he'd put her on the next bus by the cctv and he'd warn the driver (who was apparently quite a big chap) about what had happened.

In the first instance I thought my gf and I would have to sort it. In the second, given how aggresive he was, I didn't think anybody else would step in. In both cases I was pleasantly surprised that people are willing to help. We all moan, but I guess there are plenty of decent people about.

There are more good people than bad IMHO, it's just that the bad make it far, far worse for the good.
