12 oclock, empty motorway, SUNDAY, I know what I'll do, I'll stick a scamera van on a bridge!

I had the cruise control set to 75MPH do you guys think I'll be OK?

Hopefully you will be. I was under the impression that you got a 10% leeway. So you should be safe by 2mph.

Don't know mate, think yuo might escape that one. Everyone has a different idea on the margin for error they use on the laser units, given that your speedo (not the swimming trunks) can be up to 10% off due to tyre wear and such. You may get away with it!

That's what I thought.. I was also under the impression that I am actually only doing 72 / 73 mph due to the error in the speedo!

90% of speedo's read 'hot' so you were probably doing less than 75mph.

Happened to me a few months ago heading that way. I was "slightly" over 70 but nothing came of it.

I now follow this rule.. (these rules had to be set after the HH09 unmarked grey Saab finally caught up with me on the A9 two weeks after the run.) rofl

A. Set the cruise control.
B. Do NOT take Mustang. rofl
C. Begging letters to Inverness court do not work.

So I now drive like a

Sitting on the bridge over the M9 just around Larbert/Kincardine bridge turn off?

I've found my Z4's speedo to be fairly consistent with my GPS (TomTom), but even still you shouldn't have to worry at 75mph.

I spoke to a polieman in a cameran van at the Scottsh motor show and he said you will not be caught for speeding in Fife if you are under 10% over the limit

"Friendly" Traffic cop, who used to live over the road, told me 10% +2 was the guidline , as speedos were allowed a 10% error.
The majority seem to read up to about 6% low anyway, so you should be fine.

i would say 75 on your speedo is probably about 70. Should be fine, i escaped something much worse a few months ago in a similar lead boot scenario.

Yep that's usually the case, but if it's his Z4 he was in, then the speedo's a bit more accurate than that (unusually). Mine is at least, compared to GPS (TomTom) it's almost on the money up to those speeds. Mine's only 1-2mph out at 70mph.
