Australia flights

Some good offers fro0m Emirates at the moment which are tempting me to go. Bit put of by the idea of 24 hiours in the air but not sure about using stop overs in case it just becomes a rush to see the 'sights'.
Anybody used Emirates or bought a Round the World ticket asn option, and if so what stop overs did you use and would/would not recommend??
Hi Cofffee,
24 hours is a bit of a myth. I've done the run a few times on Qantas and BA. It's usually 13 hours London to Singapore, followed by about a three hour stopover to stretch your legs, then 8 Hours to Sydney, or 5 to Perth.
The trip is a bit of a drag, but well worth it. It's a not a bad spot to visit down here.
Would not recommend Emirates though.
Cheers.

Depends how you want to split up the flight really. I prefer going via Asia and getting most of the flight out of the way first, then stopover, then a shorter flight to Australia.
Going via the Middle East is more the other way round, but Emirates do have some very good deals. Have heard a lot of good things about flying with them too.

When I went to Oz, I flew on Virgin and had a 3 hour leg stretch in Hong Kong. So it was 12 hours to there and then another 8 to Sydney.
Worked out OK as I tried to stay awake for most of the 12 hour flight and then slept for the 8 hour flight arriving in Sydney at about 8 in the morning - no jet lag at all!!
If you go via the Middle East you should still be able to juggle the sleep to arrive "ready to go".

I'd heartily recommend Emirates, having just used them for a trip to Seoul. Took a stopover in Dubai for a day on the way out, and two days on the way back (no extra cost if prebooked), good airline with great customer service, nice food & drink, good entertainment systems.... and very good prices. Couldn't really fault them tbh.
