A3 Picture Mounts and frames
Discussion
Went into hobbycraft today to buy some mounts to fit A3 prints from my printer arriving later this week and some larger aluminum edged frames. Hobbycraft have a bewildering array of frames and mounts - but no mounts that fit A3! I just want an aperture slightly smaller than A3 (A3 is 297mm × 420mm (11.7in × 16.5in)). In talking to the staff its not an unknown problem and they've talked to their suppliers, Neilson, before but they report Neilson are of the take it or leave it (Pixx Off) Customer service school and they seem to be the consistent suppliers to retailers on the web.
Had a look round the web but can't find what I want say a max 290mm x 410mm aperture for a mount/frame size of say 370mm x 490mm.
I don't want to start cutting my own yet but looks like I might have to!
Where do you get yours from?

Mounts are a PITA - I have a mount cutter and make my own, but it's remarkeably complex when you've cropped images so the proportions of ecah are different.
Latterly I've taken to increasing the canvas size with a white border instead of cutting a mount. I agree it's not quite the same but it does allow you to add some nice typography underneath.

I use www.eframe.co.uk. Cheap, good quality and excellent service. Frames and mounts available in any size you want and plenty of choice on style as well.

Ditto - partly because the printing is neater than my mount cutting but also because if the OP thinks A3 mounts and frames are difficult to get hold of, try finding A3+ which of course is what a lot of paper I use is.cirks said:
