I mentioned in a previous thread sometime ago... that i had some old pics that i took when i visited Goodwood (as it was then)..back in 1997.

Finally got around to scanning them.

Anyone recognise their cars or who the owners are today
?

The white one is a Countach, and the blue, purple and red ones are Diablo's.

Do you mean the car models or the owners?

... the white Countach belonged to a member of LCUK

... the blue Diablo belonged to a member of LCUK

... the viola SE30 belonged to a member of LCUK

... the dark red SE30 still belongs to an ex-member of LCUK as far as I know

... almost all the cars are still in existence, I think.

I think I was there that day, possibly with a 'temporary assistant' depending which of the Carrera Sport days it was.

biggrin

... the red Countach behind the dark red SE30 belongs to the owner of the dark red SE30 as well

... the red Espada behind the viola SE30 belonged to another LCUK member, it's in various boxes these days as far as I know

... one or two of the then-owners are in the pictures but none are PistonHeads regulars and as far as I can see, you can't see me or that girl and going by the date on the pix, we were certainly there but perhaps a little otherwise-occupied somewhere...

Red SE30 is/was owned by RF, apparently originally ordered for the Sultan of Brunei. RF took my Dad for a spin in it, I remember the sound cloud9
I remember the shirt and shades of the then owner of the viola Diablo, and the day he turned up with a Venturi Trophy and a 355 (and possibly a DB7) too.
Lastly, I remember the daughter of the owner of the blue Diablo.

Happy days...

Am i right in thinking the Blue Diablo is the one now owned by Evil Dr Fish?

Mr. Evil Dr. Fish's car has light coloured interior, although it could have been re-trimmed I suppose.

At LeMans in 2007 I saw the owner of that blue Diablo driving a blue Murcielago, with that registration on it.
Before the Diablo he owned a red Countach QV which was featured heavily in a book about the Countach.

I have also seen that pearlescent 911 Turbo on track in the early to mid 1990s, it sounded fantastic and was clearly very fast!

VFS's plates follow VFS around one way or another - his Murciélago was the first in LCUK and it's now on its second paint change having gone from scuro blue to scuro blue with carbon-look lowlights to the "just very shiny black Dave, do you like it?" it is now...

The Sultan-of-Brunei red SE30's paint 'story' is just that - no extensive, corroborating evidence has ever backed that tale up though it almost certainly wasn't intended for actual delivery to the Sultan after it was built.

That blue Diablo isn't Doc Haddock-Nasty's car... that car belonged to a chap in West Sussex after VFS had it (it was the first Diablo in LCUK) for a while but he vanished a few years ago and the car went with him afaik

VFS had LCUK's first Countach QV (see the thread...) and also a 5000S that featured in Chris Bennett's (slim) Countach book a few years ago - many of the pictures featured VFS and Mike Pullen, both with rather more hair than they have these days plus there are a few other images much like these taken at Goodwood. Chris Bennett will freely admit he was still learning his camera skills back then!

- though Chris probably won't admit he still owes me quite a few shillings...

That VFS licence plate used to be on a Testarossa that I used to see at Castle Combe in the days when the DeTomaso Owners' Club used to meet there.

I might check with VFS himself about that - he's the 'creator' of the other version of that Ferrari's name... ;-)

I would offer photographic evidence, but most of the pics my Dad took on those days have some skinny, scowling kid in the foreground!
