Just had a year now of owning a RR ('05 vogue TD6) and no complaints to date !!

It has come up as needing an oil service

Do I need a main dealer for this or can any decent garage do it ?

How much at the RR dealer ?

It is out of warranty so not massively bothered about the stamps in the book !

Thanks,

Drfrank

Could you do it yourself? ring a couple of local garages ask if they's done it before. The main dealer will probably be the most expensicve but ask them to

Any decent Indy could do it but not sure if they could reset the service indictator.

you can neg the price down at dealers by a big %. They will price match.

Cost me £410 incl VAT on my 2005 SC. Which I thought was plenty. I politely declined their offer to do the front brakes and pads for a mere £492, and tyres at £278 a corner. Oh, and not forgetting the £80 for the bonnet release handle (fitted). Instead I bought the part for £12 and will fit it myself.

They know how to charge do these boys, but for me it was worth getting the service done to get a stamp in the book.

Just got my o 2007 TDV8 oil service from Guy Salmon portsmouth ( for the record I am from Southampton, but GS Portsmouth are so much better at customer service than Hunters Southampton) for £199 inc vat which is the same price as my local indy (brooklyn 4x4) . They had sent me and offer via e-mail, which wasn't very well worded as it was directed at my discovery but made no mention of what car it was for, so they were happy to honour it. The timing is perfect as the car is going in to them all next week when I am away skiing, for some warranty work.
