Got a friend and her brother is getting married in Vegas. She'd love to go, but funds are tight, anyone out there got any suggestions or ideas as to how she can do it on the cheap?

You'll need to dismiss direct flights for a start. Best bet is flying a US airline and transiting somewhere on the East Coast.

Something I would never do

US Airways London to Philadelphia then Philadelphia to Vegas appears to be the cheapest - approx 400 quid

Alternatively, fly to LAX and drive to Vegas, it's not a huge distance and the drive's pretty straightforward.

Last year I went Glasgow then Philly then Vegas and it was about £320 total

Prices at the mo are a bit higher. Yesterday I booked GLA to LHR to LAS for £570 next month

The direct flights (BA from LHR and Virgin from LGW) are pricier but it can be worth it just to avoid the gestapo immigration at LAX. The added benefit is you arrive in Vegas in the afternoon and also leave there afternoon-ish so less messing about

have investigate the LAX/drive option a few times. Seems you don't save anything once rental and juice are taken into account.
