Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can suggest an insurer for my business partner.. He is 27 looking to insure a 997 turbo, with 6 points.

Would appreciate any help, have a feeling its gonna sting!

Cheers

We would be able to offer a quote. If you want to pm me his details and I can get someone to call him.

Flux gave me a good quote some time ago which i went ahead with. Didnt have 6 points though!! Different companies specialise in different things, they were good for my Cobra but less so for my Diablo so i went elsewhere for that.

They've been slated in the past, but I'm with Elephant. I've a 996 C4S and 27, but have a clean licence. Turbo quote for me was <£700 (my C4S come in at £800 strangely!!) if I remember, c.£600 excess, parked on street in London, 9k miles per year. Admiral and Privilege have also given me good quotes in the past. Only thing I would say is grill them about exactly what cover you'd be getting. I spent 30 mins on the phone to Elephant clarifying exactly how they'd go about repairing my car if I had a prang. They're (hopefully) now on record as saying the car would go to a specialist (rather than generic local approved body shop) for repair, subject to one of their engineers overseeing the work done (i.e. costs).

Conversely, providing exactly the same info to Adrian Flux results in £2.5k+ quotes for some reason! Happy for AF to try and do better when I switch cars soon, but not holding out any hope!

I wouldn't recommend Adrian Flux, they quoted me, I took out the policy only to receive the docs with missing options which I had specified to them. They virtually called me a liar and spent months trying to get a refund, NEVER again AF.

I found direct line cheapest for my turbo between 27-32yrs, and got a £250 discount just by adding my mrs on the policy ... So get your mate to check it out.

I got a quote of direct line for my 360 and they were ridiculously expensive £1800

Have it on a modern classic now from MWA (Ben) now who quoted me £650, with no need to use no-claims etc.

Shop around!!!
