Hi All,
I cant bring myself to sell the M so she will have a retirement in the garage for family trips and hauling the imminent baby. Do you know after 128k miles I still went out in the snow today just to sit in it earlier to think about stuff, sad really but there you go..
Looking at a replacement everyday vehicle I have a rather eclectic mix in mind. Headed by an AMV8, SL55, and the wildcard a Noble.
In order to justify the change the newer vehicle has to be significantly different, will the AM feel noticably faster? I had a tussle with one late at night on the A12 through Essex and it didnt get away by many lengths. I think a taster track day would be money well spent.
A friend has an M12 Noble with 136k miles on the clock, it may be a bit of a "Triggers broom" but certainly has proved reliable enough. And is significantly wilder than the M5.
I know there have been many M5 Replacement threads but dont seem to have any follow ups.

I really dont think you buy an AM V8 for speed, but it'd certainly make every drive more of an event and turn a few more heads than the M.
I thought about one as a possible replacement to my M3 when its time is due but I dont think tis performance would satisfy me, it looks stunning, sounds fantastic but I think everytime I put my foot down I'd feel a little dissapointed.
Im not sure how you're looking at the Am and the Noble though? Complete polar opposites, surely the driving you do makes the choice between those 2 at least very obvious?

Let's face facts... it's hardly worth getting another 4 seater with boot because nothing is going to better the M5.
Next, 8k depreciation pretty much rules out a new (ish) car so.....:
Fezza 355 - http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1396865.htm. Won't loose a penny
Pork 911 Turbo - http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1264766.htm. Very reliable
or something a little different;
Scooby 22B - http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1243622.htm. Ok, it's 4 doors and a boot but how much fun and I doubt you'll lose more than a couple of grand.
or maybe, just because it's so beautiful - http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1059077.htm

Perfection! and quite probably depreciation proof also. Good thinking old chap. maddernj said:
Gorgeous, however having experienced the wayward handling of an aging example on my best man duties, I am a little fearful of E types. "Do what you will to my daughter but dont bend my Jag" were the words of the father in law as we gracefully slid backwards off the roundabout.
