I am dating a girl I met randomly in a pub after having worked a Sunday and popping in for a pint. Thought she was out with family and made a bit of eye contact, got chatting outside whilst smoking. Turned out she was out with the guy for a date, and his cousin had come along. Wasn't going well. So I offered her my number and said she was welcome to call if she fancied meeting up again.
She called, we're 'dating'. It's not too tricky.

Might be worth putting a description of yourself, your likes and a couple of photos up and I am sure there will be the usual "scientific" analysis of the information.

Your occupation is "Tricky one to describe" 
and you show a picture of the back of your head also.....is there a reason for that?
Surely a way for meeting guys is doing things you're interested in? e.g. There's no point going to a PH car meet if you couldn't stand a guy who loves his cars....

How the hell does anyone meet anyone at the gym? Everyone is sweating buckets in non flattering cloths and half the people at my local gym appear to be totally vacuous. Added to that that everyone has an ipod (I drop mine on the treadmill a lot, it's only a matter of time before it ends up embedded in someone’s ankle)
Wouldn't you also feel like some cringe worthy cliché trying to chat up someone there? How do you start? Helping with a workout? This may work if you're evidently super fit (that'll be 1% of gym goers) however for an average bod like me the only thing I could bring to the party would be technical support in programming an exercise bike
