We have had no post since around a week ago!

The snow we had (of any decent proportion) was last Thursday and even that was only about 3" and then on Friday a further 4" which has now all but gone, main roads are perfectly clear. They were only a bit dodgy on one day, last Friday.

I currently have no headlights because I'm waiting on a part for the car which I ordered over a week ago paying around £9 next day delivery on an item that weighs no more than a few cornflakes!

I'm still having to drive to work and back and some of that is in the dark with just sidelights.

I guess I'll have to cold call on the sorting office tomorrow and ask for our mail.

Also had no rubbish collection for 2 weeks!

Is there some blanket policy with these service where they down tools because some HSE has done a risk assessment or something equally as stupid?

Our pre-Xmas (as well as after) bin collections were pretty dire!

Seen postie/Royal Mail delivery vans on most days though.

I guess we were lucky to have had one rubbish collection the wednesday after xmas.

No excuse for no post though; Kent was the least hit by snow in all of the country.

I wonder whether they are refunding the 'next day' postal charges?

I've heard some people saying that they ordered their food shopping online for delivery and it never turned up. On telephoning the supermarket they were told that if they drove to a depot in Oldham to collect it instead, they would get it free of charge. Seems odd to me that they expect people to manage the drive to the depot, yet feel that their drivers can't manage the delivery.

They must be saving it all grouped together in some logical order at the sorting office so I'll rock up there 7am tomorrow on my way to work just as they open and take it from them - shouldn't take them more than a few minutes to find it I wouldn't have thought.

In theory!

I checked the local council website today - update on the 7th Jan saying that services have been suspended, and to leave your bins somewhere out the way but visible (front garden) and they will be collected, with any excess rubbish.

Now judging by the nazism of the local councils, I can forsee anything outside the wheelie bin not being collected, and people getting the usual "CONTAMINATION" stickers on others...

I hope not though! 4 weeks, but luckily being only two of us, not much rubbish to collect over the standard bin.
