S-Max high level brake light keeps failing

Hi all,
our S-Max central high mount brake light keeps blowing bulbs - three in a row, they last a couple of weeks then the next one goes.
Anyone else had this problem and know a cure?

Not touching the bulb are you...?

If not, it'd suggest an earth issue..

I probably wasn't that careful about not touching the bulb before, biut was pretty scrupulous about it when I replaced the bulb today.
Also tightened the contacts in case they were loose and causing the occasional arc.
We'll see...

Had a similar thing in one of my old Mk6 Escorts...
