02 mini... CD multi-changer woes

My 6 CD multi changer in the boot is saying "NO CASSET" when I select it and the eject button wont work. I don’t want to rip it out and make it worse. Any ideas how to get it out or get it working?

Is the cassette in there? Can you remove it?

Mine jammed last year. I removed and unplugged the changer, liberated the cassette and all was fine. One of the few simple jobs i'm capable off.

Its a bit warmer today and the eject button just worked. I wonder if its because it was cold?
