As had the day off, had a little tinker in the garage. Have replaced the GRP bulb access panels in the front wheel arches with a 5mm waterproof rubber type material, cut to shape. These are held on with around 20 self taping screws & 1" washers, so sealing is no longer needed. What a relief next bulb change!

Sounds good, Tim. Do you know if it's possible to remove the complete headlight unit through this access hole - if I wanted to replace the headlamps can I do it without removing the perspex headlight covers?

I fear not; the light unit is held between the upper and lower halves of the pod.

If you want to replace the headlamp units you will need to remove the whole pod, not too difficult.

Does the whole light unit come out from the access hatch? The reason I ask is the inside of my pod is full of dust/crap and I have no idea how it got in there. So as a part of the prep for le mans I was going to replace both bulbs just in case and see if I can give the inside a clean.

personally I wouldn't do it unless you have to, the pod comes out of it's own hole, if you see what I mean, and is only worth the effort if you are going to change the clear perspex or the entire lamp.

It's not impossible, but it's fiddly and messy, loads of ooey-gooey.
