Do you occasionally wish we still called them this in everyday conversation?
Would it give you an excuse to don some driving gloves, goggles and scream 'Tally Ho!' to the countryside as you went?
There's something brilliantly warm and nostalgic about it; not that I'm old enough to remember doing it!

I'm not too interested in the terms used, but I certainly would prefer to have the motoring climate of 1955 to 1965, even though it would mean sacrificing the progress that has been made in the cars themselves. Talking about turning the clock back in that way will seem wrong to many people, but if they had driven in that period I think they would understand better.Would it give you an excuse to don some driving gloves, goggles and scream 'Tally Ho!' to the countryside as you went?

We have undoubtedly lost most of the sense of freedom and tolerance we used to have, and it's all getting too regulated and stifling for me. I shall simply go on ignoring most of that, as best I can, and given that I'm not causing much trouble to anybody, I don't feel guilty about it in any moral sense.
Best wishes all,
Dave.
