Anyone got an XBOX hard drive transfer kit?

Just received a new xbox hard drive to replace my slowly failing smaller one. Does anyone have a transfer kit that they would be willing to sell/rent me?

You can get one for free from Microsoft if you dig through the xbox website.

I couldn't get off the xbox site as the form to fill in was only for people that had bought a new Elite model, and you had to enter the code from console itself.

Tis a joke, as I had to buy a 60GB premium console after my launch one got RROD out of warranty.

Yes I looked at that too and found it was elite only. My old one is ready to give up the ghost, the xbox keeps freezing but only with games that are accessing the hard drive.

Found the cable and the instructions but not the CD - I'm sure that you should be able to find a downloadable version of that though.

Great! Does it run from the xbox or do I need to plug it in to the computer?

Runs from the Xbox - USB lead to new HDD (Special converter on end of lead). Put the (mising!) CD into the drive and let it run.

Great, I'll see I'd I can get a disc off of eBay

Doesn't seem to be any separate discs on ebay so I'll just have to buy a kit anyway, unless anyone on here as a spare disc they can loan me.
Cant download one either because my console isn't modded
