Realistic bodywork cost
Discussion
Hi
I have been restoring a 1991 Fiesta RS Turbo for a few months now. I have totally stripped the car and refurbished all the parts that have been removed ready for rebuild.
The shell needs welding in a couple place; mainly under the drivers and passenger foot well. It is also having the following genuine panels welded in:
both front wings
front cross member
front slam panel
rear panel
rear passenger quater panel
After the welding it is going to be resprayed keeping the Original Black colour.
The floor and all inner arches are to be painted as I have removed all underseal (horrible job) and primed them.
The bodyshop guy is going to have a look in the morning.
I would like to get all of the above done for £2000 maximum.
How does this sound; totally unrealistic or not? I have no experience with this.
All I know is he will be chagging me approx £30 hour. Therefore if he spends a week (8 hours a day x 6) then that would be a shade under £1500. Plus then the cost of the paint.
What do you think?
Many thanks
