hi all,
thinking of getting a 2001 XKR conv...
can i just ask, approx, what are the costs of
1) new set of tyres all round
2) minor/major servicing at a good independent ?
3) dare i ask.... city mpg ?

also, am I correct in believing these cars are generally, very reliable, if serviced correctly ?

many thanks

I changed my Pirelli tyres for a set of the Latest Dunlop SportMaxx and found that not only did they get rid of tyre noise almost completely but they only cost £650 for a full set as compared to £1100+ for the Pirelli.

Servicing

We charge between £185 and £375 depending on the service. I would imagine most independents are around about the same sort of price.

To add to the original questions, what about mpg away from a city?

On a decent run on the motorway staying around 80 using cruise control I get 27 to 28 mpg. (2001 4.0 XKR).

Normal road use in and out of work with a bit of A road and a small stretch of Motorway I average around 20 mpg.

Thanks Pheonix, that sounds pretty reasonable to me given the car size and potential performance.
