Over a year ago, for my birthday, my wife kindly purchased a set of Lupine Wilmas for me. Three riding buddies have the same light so she thought that with a price tag of £400 plus they would be reliable, and if they were not they would have a back up service to sort any problems.
How wrong can you be.
Mine went back 3 times in a year. The last time they went back, I charged them up, got on my bike got 2 miles from the car on a very tricky bit of downhill and they went blink and stopped working. I went over the bars and hurt myself badly. Away being repaired for 2 weeks, lasted 20 mins.
I had a total sense of humour failure and the next day went ballistic at the UK importers who were supposed to have repaired the sodding things. After a day of arguing (the 1 year warranty was 3 days from expiring) they VERY reluctantly agreed to change the head unit. I exploded at them. They then replaced the head and battery but not the charger and VERY reluctantly agreed to give a further year warranty. I spent my Birthday looking like I had been beaten with a large gravel path attached to a hill, which was true.
So far they have not gone wrong (touches wood).
A friend is laid up and cant ride so he lent another buddy the lights. He was busy so I picked them up. First ride in they fail. 1 hour from home in the ice and snow. Talk about high and dry!
I thought it may be a charging issue as the lights worked on my battery. We went out again last night. The sodding thing lasted 20 mins.
I returned them to my friend and explained the situation. Not known for being even tempered and rational, he is blaming me and I have told him under no circumstances will I take responsibility for the lights.
Anyway - My lights have gone back to the importer 3 times. Friend 1 is returning them (just over 1 year old), Friend 2 has returned them twice in a year. Friend 3, the owner of the LBS and uses them as "demo" lights has lost count of the times he has returned them and has taken a set out of stock. He can use one set while the other is repaired.
Dont buy them.
They are unreliable (The most important thing about a set of lights must be reliability), too expensive, the importer shows no talent for repair and is tighter than a ducks backside, and cares sod all for the customers.
Buy a hope light instead.

Or a lumicycle product, whose customer service is excellent. Buy a hope light instead.

The hope lights are very similar in style and output and I have had a cause to call the guys at Hope. They could not help enough.I guess we'll need to have a longer think about it now. Thanks.
I can only assume they show the same attitude to the lights.
I have become so frustrated at the issues arising from Lupine. Even when I dont own them, dont use them they are a sodding issue. I sincerley regret opting to have some replacements, I should have taken the money and purchased the Hopes and saved some money.
I can not state enough how rude and useless the Customer Manager at the importers was. It was incredible she made it to her desk. I have never been lied to so much by a single representative of a company EVER.
In my experience, Hope are just as good at supporting their lighting products as anything else they sell.
My Hope HID had a hard couple of years use, during which time I crashed it into things, tore the battery cable off, cracked the reflector etc. Eventually enough was enough and it packed up. Hope repaired it like new and even replaced the torn battery cable FOC.
Since my (newly repaired) light was attached to the bike when it was nicked, I'm now Hopeless

I purchased exactly the same set up from www.dealextreme.com and they came out at under £50 delivered. Took a while to get here, but at that price who cares?

Urmmmm.. well i would be at the other end of the scale.
I too have Lupine Wilmas had them for a couple of years now, never let me down and only thing that did go wrong was when i crashed and the glass seal broke.
I contacted them through the website and got a really quick response on their forums and was back using them within 3 weeks.
At the time Hope didnt have LED tech and the alternatives were low on the ground.
Will i get another one when it finally dies.... no. Not because i dont trust the light or have been let down in anyway but the joystick (or whatever there called) or Hope are cheaper.

Try this guy http://www.geomangear.com/index.php?main_page=prod... he has much better reviews on other sites, and has already helped me with diagnosing the battery problem, and I didn't even buy them from him, seems a good bloke.
