How ridiculous?
Did they explain why?
Mike.
had lots of problems last year and if they carry on the same the will go under therefore all premiums have been raised and they are not insuring high risk or modified cars !! they feel a intercooler upgrade is the first steps to major upgrades and its not what they want !! Did they explain why?
Mike.
How would they know. I once had a mk2 evo had loads of mods. I didn't realize how much it had been modified until we broke it for parts. I insured it as a mk 2 evo the insurance company insured it as a 1.6 lancer, (did think it was cheap for a 22 year old, but the cover note said evo2) Only had the car for 3 days before I killed it. The insurance man didn’t even know what type of car it was, let alone open the bonnet. Have things changed, or is it just not worth the risk......................................................The question is would an insurance man know the difference between a factory fitted intercooler and a proalloy, there are no visable differences to the untrained eye.
back in the cosworth hay days - insurance assesors would check injectors and turbo's etc to see if a car was modified. if it was, they would not pay out
its a big risk to not tell your insurer about modifications
we can blame this all on the owners that keep smashing thier Nobles
