Clifford alarm system on e36 coupe

i got an e36 coupe which has had a clifford concept 400 i think it is but anyways the key fob has been playing up lately due to ware and tear i pressume but basically i have to press the button so hard sometimes and im scared if it break ( because its my only one id be f*cked ) i have spare key fob at home but its for the newer clifford and its registerd to another car..

Cut a long story short will it work? can i erase it from the previous car and set it to my one??

Or do i have to go buy a blank one?

Also I know my valet code but how the hell do you use that button that puts it on valet mode??
