Multipla wont start
Discussion
I know it's not a very PH car, but someone might know the answer!
On Christmas day I drove the 52 Mult 115 JTD home, popped in to get something, came out and it wouldn't start.
Cranks over OK but won't fire.
The engine management light isn't on so when the garage plug their computer in it doesn't show anything.
There is fuel geting to the injectors (cracked a joint open and it comes out) but the injectors aren't triggering to inject.
Garage say they could replace each sensor and ECU in turn until they find what's wrong or maybe Main Dealer would have further diagnostics.
Any ideas!
Thanks
John

John,
I had a similar problem in that my Multipla would be ok one minute and then wouldn't fire up the next. It turned out to be the crankshaft sensor. The thing is, it didn't show up on any diagnostic checks that we had carried out. It's a bit of a fiddly job, but not too bad to do and well worth a try before you start being charged for someone to keep changing parts!
Good luck!

Thanks. We replaced the crankshaft sensor in the summer - it would run for 5 minutes and then stop and not restart, then start and run for 5 minutes and so on.
At least that was enough for me to get to the garage in short bursts!
It did show up on the diagnostics though, but it's still possible that it's gone again.

John,
Yes, I would still say worth a go. We had to call the AA man out and he found the same problem with our injectors. I found this forum really helpful for all things Multipla http://www.fiatforum.com/multipla/
