Just browsing through the classifieds and had a look at the Z8 page. Prices range from around £70k to £100k
. Not bad for a 10 year old car! What was the list price on these, £80k?

Nearly bought a new one back in 2002 for late £50's (forget the £80k list UK BMW could not sell them)
Seem to have pretty much held at that level until the pound dropped against the euro and the savvy Europeans started coming over and buying them up.
Same happed to e30 m3, bmw m1's and left hand drive 911’s
(we have been doing to them for years before)

I got invited to BMW UK in Bracknell back in 2007 to test drive a facelift E87 120d and they had a Z8 parked outside.
As I had some time to kill before my drive I had a good look around it and while it was definitely a stunning looking car, they were all LHD and automatic - definitely not for me even at a tenth of that price!
I suppose rarity and the Bond factor play a big part in terms of value.

From memory I am sure they were all manual. It is the engine and gearbox from the E39 M5.As I had some time to kill before my drive I had a good look around it and while it was definitely a stunning looking car, they were all LHD and automatic - definitely not for me even at a tenth of that price!

Alpina did do a version which was auto, I think it had a different engine too.

Alpina V8 Roadster had a modified M62 (4.8 litres) with a 5 Speed auto.
