You have no choice, you have to lose both your legs (from the knee down, so you can still sit on the toilet, do things that dont need a lot of leg) drive a car with hand controls etc, or your "good" arm.

I could still be a fighting machine with 1 arm. I wouldn't enjoy life much in a wheelchair though although as you say, I'm sure it is still technically possible to take a st.
