I've just traded my 3 series ragtop in favour of a more efficient 320d (2008 - 177bhp) does anyone have experience of chipping the 320d? who did you use? what are the power gains like? and has it affected your warranty in any way?

I'm wondering if theres much difference between a traditional ECU chip remap and one of the plugin modules to the common rail

Thanks for any advice

I used e-maps on my 118d. The contact there is Simon and he's done a top job for me, well recommend plus he come's to you (home or work).

I'm pretty sure it's 'bye bye bmw warranty'...

Certain parts of the warranty will be affected yes but not all...I'm sure someone posted up a letter which they had received from BMW UK (can't quite find it at the moment) stating that.
