Quick question about Vmax
Discussion
Hi guys,
Just thought I'd get a bit of a heads up on the format / etiquette on Vmax days.
Looking at previous videos, two cars start off on the back straight side by side.
What happens when you get to the corner before the 2 mile straight?
Do you go round side by side, or does one car give way so you can both take the racing line around the corner before returning to your 'lanes'?
I'm guessing you don't want to get too close to each other in case you spin, and to avoid stone chips?
Thanks.

It's always good to remember that steaming around the bend as fast as you can usually makes little to no difference to the speed through the trap. How the wind acts from about half way down seems to make the most difference.
Standing start from the end of the runway probably gives identical speeds through the traps. Not as much fun mind you.

The nitrous would be used a little off the startline for show but then saved for the final half of the straight i think
It's hard to say what's best. The question will be what MPH will the car sustain without gas and how much you dare use. What's the longest you've pressed the button for?ThatPhilBrettGuy said:

What's the longest you've pressed the button for?I reckon my car can reach 155 easily enough then i aim to use 'just' 150bhp of gas for the final push of say 5 seconds. I have used upto 250 bhp on the 1/4 but as the car is accelerating fast its a lot less strain on the engine.
Ive seen over 150 easy enough on the tomtom before the impending engine rebuild so im confident for over 155. On the gas the car is a different beast altogether.
1/4 mile was 13.0 @ 107 without down to 11.6 @ 125 with.

There isn't actually. The only way there's less strain is if the engine isn't doing the work, and unless you're wheel spinning, it is!Take loads of gas and experiment as Craig says. You'll get plenty of runs in assuming you're in the noise limits

Noise limits could be a problem with a new decat pipe to be fitted, i will get it checked.
I run twin 11lb bottles and will have 2 spare so theres plenty of gas no worries
