I know it varies from house to house and person to person but what are you paying roughly.

I have a quote fo £350 for contents including accidental damage and bikes away from the home.

Seems excessive.

I think I'm paying about that for buildings and contents.

In my last flat I was paying less than £100 for contents cover.

That was a top floor, two bedroom pad.

£135 for £60,000 contents plus items away from the home. (Helps that i'm an insurance broker!) - btw bikes can push premiums up quite dramatically as increase risk if left chained to a post etc etc

£350 Direct Line

£95.30 Legal and General

Differences, only £40k contents covered by L&G, £50k covered by Direct Line.

Ended up going with L&G.

Happy as Larry!

I used moneysupermarket.com for housing/contents quotes. My parents asked me to have a look at theirs too. The price quoted by at least 20 for combined house/contents was the same as the house only quote they had for a renewal.
