Well i've heard it all now. I'm sat watching TV, the phone rings and when I answer it I was greeted to an advert. Firstly we are ex directory so not sure where they got the number from. The advert appeared at first to be some government message, but it then went on to talk about debt relief.

I mean wtf!!!!

Has anyone else ever had this, because the concept of being called with an advert is a new one on me.

Get these a lot at work! Usually just hang up, but if you stay on the line, at the end they say, if you dont want us to contact you again, press 9, or whatever.
Works, for that company, then another one will start ringing up!!

I'm pretty certain i've used this before. Mind you that might have been our last phone number, so it will be worth registering again just in case.

I've got to the point where I never answer my landline. Anyone who knows me has my mobile so I figure anyone ringing on the landline is either a stranger or someone I didnt deem worthy of my mobile number.

We use the answerphone to screen calls and nost call centre calls are dropped like a stone when it kicks in, but this advert just kept going.

'Hello! Is that being Mr Brett?'

'No, but I'll just get him. Please hold...'

Then go back to watching the TV etc.
