After speaking to Sage, who seemed pretty useless...

We currently run Sage Line 50. Due to changes in the company structure, we're going to amalgamate two companies into one.

The main business is going to have 3 currency accounts; EURO, Sterling and USD (most transations are invoiced and paid in Euros).

Is there a version of Sage able to run 3 separate currency balances and accounts under the umbrella of one company? We would be invoicing and paying bills in each currency independently and wouldn't need to convert to GBP with each transaction- the conversion would be at the year end.

10p, Sage 200 will do that, or at least I am sure that we do with it.

I'm probably a bit late with this but look at this if you don't have to control stock

http://www.xero.com/pricing/

Large version handles multi-currency, unlimited users

I am not a big fan of Sage

I've just installed a multi company, multicurrency accounts package into one of my Clients.

We're so impressed with it we've become their Reseller and Implementation Partner.

Pricing is very competative but as always - there are a load of questions to ask before we would recommend any package -starting off with what are you trying to achieve?

Drop me a line- glad to help

AFAIK Sage Line 50 multi Currency support leaves a lot to be desired. In my line of work I try to understand the business model before finding the suitable financial package. If you wish PM a brief description of the business (do you have a foreign currency account or how do you handle exchange rate fluctuations?) and what sort of budget you have for your accounts package, most times you will find that you can get a better overall package if you seek advice from someone like me, that integrates a lot of the work, saving double entry and a host of other issues ;-)
