Been looking for the last couple of weeks for a 57 or 08 plate RR TDV8 VGE (SE)

Over the last couple of days a number have suddenly either disappeared or been marked as sold on PH and Autotrader (after hanging around for ages)

A number of new ones have appeared, all at about £5k more

Have I missed something ?

Funny you say that - I had a quick browse the other day and thought the same. I guess the weather has more of an impact - both on the selling side as well as buying in that sellers will hang on to the car for a bit longer until the snow has gone.

With good reason as well - they are fantastic cars in this weather....

07 or 08 plate
min vogue spec
average miles or less
i.e below 25k for a 2 year old
(remove the cat d flood damage etc)

ebay - returns 13 and a starting price of £37k, next at £40k and the rest £44k or above

One sold today (08) at auction for £45k

last week you could have bought an 08 for around the £40k mark

I'm thinking of buying on this summer when prices will be slightly depressed. If we keep getting winters like this, it will be an excellent investment as well as carrying stock to and from my suppliers.

I bought my 57 plate vogue with FLRSH original warranty until November 2010 with the additional remote & timer controlled pre-heater option fitted, tracker fitted, 36k miles for £33995 a month ago. Sounds like I got a steal. I bought from a non franchised dealer. It is black with parchment leather, so great colour combo as well.

The Range Rover received some great publicity when it waltzed up a grassed incline straight past a struggling BMW X6 on a recent test on "Top Gear".
I'd never considered a Range Rover before but have been impressed by tests such as the above.

And Clarkson was in the Sunday Times this week claiming the RR is 'the only car you will ever need' and he's bought one for himself - a TDV8.

Look at the V8 SC. Yes it will use more fuel - although not as much more as you might imagine. The TDV8 is an excellent diesel, but it remains a diesel. The V8 sounds like a proper engine and goes harder. Once you factor in the cheaper purchase price then the economics start to make some sense too.
