For those who haven't seen it yet and have managed to miss all the reminders on TV , it's on tonight C4 9.00

This would never have been a film I'd have chosen to watch , but like most people I'd heard all the hype and thought I'd give it a try.

It really blew me away , great story , very well told and acted ,probably the best film of the year IMO

I'll be watching it again tonight.

Interesting but by no means a great film. The stars of the show were the child actors who played the characters in the early part of the film. They were excellent, considering none of them had any formal acting training.

The adults, on the other hand, appeared listless and unconvincing.

watched it last year, good film, apparently friends stopped their young kids watching it as they might get scared / shocked

On the basis the only really shocking stuff was the abuse of the little indian kids (which is a reality) i happily let my kids watch it (youngest, that saw it, 6) It's good for kids that live in front of an xbox to know that life isnt the same for everyone.

I watched this back to back with The Simpsons movie. Slumdog Millionaire by comparison is a masterpiece!

When it came out at the cinema I thought it was all going to be a load of bks so refused to take my wife to see it.
Saw it last night and loved it - really enjoyable film. I'm glad they left the Bollywood dancing to the end though!
Yes it could have been more shocking and gritty in it's portrayal of Indian poverty but that would have pushed the film out of reach of children, who will benefit the most from seeing the film.

Funny thing is I've seen loads of Danny Boyle's films without knowing they were his, Shallow Grave, Trainspotting, The Beach, Sunshine and Slumdog for example, and am yet to see one that I dislike.
Some directors only take on certain themes or genres and some have a really tacky trademark direction to all their films but not him, each film is so different.
