Parking a bike

I have a small group of 4 going this year, we will all be in the same trailer tent. 3 are going from the UK in a car, the 4th from Italy, on a Ducati. I know the camping permit is for 1 car, so does anyone know where to park and the best way to secure a bike for the weekend, or if a bike will be allowed on the campsite, which is Bleu Nord?

I'm sure they would let you park a bike on the plot aswell, it's not as if it would take up major amounts of room. I stayed on the TL site last year and everyone is considerate and understanding about parking etc ....... hope that helps in some way

With the amount of scooters/bikes used as daily transport around the site taking a bike is not going to be an issue, just chain it up next to your tent.

We go on bikes every year, usually around 5 bikes and similar number of cars. Each vehicle has its own camping pass as per the rules. Every time we go in and out (supermarche runs are always by bike) our passes get checked, and that's in the off circuit campsites as well (BSJ, Bleu N & S).

If you had a pit bike or little scooter (i.e. the sort of thing you'd take with you, not arrive on) then you'd probably get away without passes, but on a bike laden with luggage you will need a pass.

Once your in there's no great problem and parking is fine, but the benefit of the bike is that it is much better for going in and out more often - one year I even laid off the booze so I could ride back and forwards to arnage and mulsanne enclosures, well until I got bored!

Sorry for the late reply, but you seem to have some conflicting info above..... To be clear, yes you can park motorbikes in the campsites. BUT each bike must have a camping permit to get into the campsite. I know this because some friends came with our group last year on their bikes and they each had to have a pass.

Officially you need 1 camping pass per vehicle, be it a bike or a car.

If there are 3 or 4 in a car and 1 on a bike then you should have, and be much better off with 2 passes. You'll be glad of the extra space anyway.

Not sure of the permit status, but a word of advice if taking a bike:
Don't forget to pack a couple of sheets of plywood or metal or similar, to go under the stand, so it doesn't sink into the ground.

(Probably obvious, but I thought it worth mentioning.)

A squashed beer can is usually fine for that, unless it has been particularly wet when I found the best thing was an off-cut of laminate floor. Will last at least a week before it goes soggy, and stronger than the equivalent thickness ply.

Then again, a Ducati does have a bit of a suicide stand, so perhaps a full scaffold?
