I fancy going to the F1 GP this year at Silverstone. Never been before and so wondered what tips people can give that have been in the past !

A few questions I have are these:

1. If we go by car, is it a good bet that it would take us hours to get in ?
2. 1 person in our group has a medical condition due to a past operation...basically they need to use the toilet more often. How are toilet facilities there ? Are there many ?
3. What part of the track do you suggest watching the race at ?
4. Hotels seem pretty much booked up already. I have seen hotels that are 15 miles + out that are available.

Why don't Pistonheads sort out a stand in the future there and for any pistonheads member, we get a discount ! (Mods...take a note of that!)

If you want to park at the circuit you have to time your arrival really early or it will take a while to get in. If your friend with the medical condition is a woman, it may be a nightmare for her, not so bad if it's a bloke. The womens tiolets seem to have lines of women with crossed legs outside, particularly on the Sunday. My favourite place to watch, is the Maggots and Becketts chicane, or if i'm in the Grandstands down in the Luffield complex. Getting out directly after the race is a fking joke. It's best to go to the after party on the inside of the track for a bit and chill your boots for a couple of hours.
