I'm considering upgrading to a D90 body - anyone on here got one?

Was wondering if it has a built in intervalometer / timelapse function, like a D200 i used a while ago?

I was considering upgrading to a D90 from a D70, but I chose the D300 in the end. I'm very pleased with the D300, but I guess it depends what camera you have now.

op - sorry for slight thread derailment but I'm thinking of upgrading from a D70s

what made you choose the d300 over the d90?

I've upgraded from a D70 to a D90 - no, it's not got timelapse

I chose the D90 because I couldn't afford a D300 at the time. I've added a battery grip though.

If you "tether" it to a PC, you can do it with this

I'm sure someone posted a remote trigger on ebay for the d90 that allowed you to do clever time lapse functions on the d90, can't find it now though.

It was only about £35 too.

I had a look at both and while the D90 had an impressive range of features, the D300 just seemed like a more "professional" camera. I wasn't interested in having the video functionality and the D300 feels great in your hand. If you are coming from a D70 (a great camera!!!), you will love the D300. It is a bit more expensive, but if you can afford it, it's worth the extra cost.

cheers -- is the D300 a big step from the D200?

The main things you'll notice in use are:

Larger, higher-res monitor with faster scrolling
CMOS sensor gets you an extra stop ISO, noise for noise

Lots of other minor bits, some better than the D200 and some worse (IMHO)

The big leap for you will be from the D70s to either of them!

cheers guy

all my kit over the years has been secondhand - I can't see that changing - so I wondered about a secondhand D200....
